Idyllwild Attractions
There's plenty of things to see and do in Idyllwild!
Here are just a few of the many attractions Idyllwild has to offer:
Idyllwild
Area Historical Society Museum
Step back in time! The Idyllwild Area Historical
Society Museum is itself situated in an historic, 1920's summer
cabin. Located in town and features fascinating exhibits.
Idyllwild
Park Nature Center
The Idyllwild Nature
Center is a great place to learn about our native flora and
fauna, the Cahuilla Indians and early Idyllwild pioneers, the
origins of the San Jacinto Mountains, or to take a nature walk or
attend a storytelling and campfire program.
Santa
Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument
Idyllwild is the western gateway to an area of
272,000 acres that was designated as the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument by Congress in
the fall of 2000. Encompasses the area northwest of Palm Springs to
the Anza Borrego Desert State Park along the Pacific Crest Trail.
Art
Galleries
Idyllwild boasts an abundance of artists and art
galleries. Spend your day browsing through gallery after gallery of
fine art, pottery, photography, handcrafted items, and more! Attend
one of the many functions sponsored by the Art Alliance of
Idyllwild.
Concerts
and Theatrical Productions
Idyllwild is filled with one musical event or
another and theatre events abound! One of the larges music and
theatre venues in Idyllwild is the Idyllwild Arts Academy,
a high school and summer program for some of the most talented
students, young and old. Idyllwild Arts also hosts dance, art, and
poetry events.
Annual
Events
Idyllwild is known for annual music and cultural
events. One of the largest venues is the Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines
festival, held in August of each year. You won't want to miss the
Plein Air Art Festival in September, or the Annual Art Walk and Wine
Tasting event! Check our Event Calendar for more things to do in
Idyllwild!
Scenic Idyllwild Sights

points, our giant Jeffrey Pine tree, Indian rocks, and more.
Nearby
Attractions
A number
of nearby locations offer pleasant day trips from Idyllwild.
You might enjoy visiting the Palm
Springs Aerial Tramway or The Living Desert. For those who love to shop, the Cabazon
Outlet Mall is just a short drive away. For added entertainment and
perhaps a win at the gambling table, you may want to visit one of
the nearby casinos: the Soboba
Casino in San Jacinto or the Casino Morango in Cabazon.
Nature
Herself
Perhaps the finest attraction that Idyllwild has
to offer is Nature herself. Take a walk, smell the fresh air, listen
to the birds, laugh at the squirrels at play, and listen to the wind
blowing through the trees. |
